THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS. There are times when someone decides to confide in us and we can't keep it to ourselves. If someone shares with you about someone hurting themselves or hurting someone else it is your duty to report it. You can let the person know that you have to do this but no matter their reaction, you have to follow through. They might get mad. They might not trust you again. Their safety is more important than your friendship.
