A Community Approach to Mental Health
The most successful prevention, of any type, happens in an environment where everyone feels safe having vulnerable conversations.
42% of teens say they do not have the words to ask for help.
42% say it is too overwhelming to reach out for support.
33% say it is hard to find safe moments to talk.
Strong Feelings Week is a week dedicated to equipping every member of your community to become comfortable talking about the uncomfortable. Taylor Johnson uses laughter and storytelling to introduce a community approach to mental health.
Through a week of custom assemblies, meetings, trainings, and conversations Taylor will empower every generation in your community to share what they’ve experienced and the stories they’re still in the middle of, develop a culture that values listening and vulnerability, and create space to bring together the resources that already exist in your area.
“While almost 2 in 5 teens said they were not getting the support they needed, a whopping 93.1% of parents believed otherwise, reporting their child received adequate social and emotional support.”
